Account

Your account holds who you are, your subscription, and the preferences that follow you across matters. This page covers signing in, the account dialog, and where each setting lives.

Signing in

Sign in with any of three methods:

  • Google or Microsoft: one click with your existing account. Your name and profile picture carry over from the provider.
  • Email: enter your address and Nodes-IP sends a sign-in link and a 6-digit code. Click the link, or type the code on the confirmation page. Both expire after 10 minutes, and after too many wrong attempts you request a new code.

After signing in you land on the assistant home with no matter open. Access requires an active subscription; without one you are asked to contact us instead.

The account dialog

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the Account dialog. It has three parts:

  • Profile. Your name, email address, and profile picture. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft these come from that account; the app does not edit them.
  • Subscription. Your plan and its status (Active, Trial, or Past due), with the relevant date: when the plan renews, when the trial ends, or when a cancelled plan stops.
  • Sign out. Ends your session on this device.

Subscription

Nodes-IP is subscription-based, with trial periods available. There is no online checkout yet: to start or change a subscription, reach out through the contact page. The subscription card in the account dialog is a read-only summary of your current plan.

Settings

Open Settings from the gear icon in the sidebar. Settings are grouped into three categories:

  • General. Appearance and search preferences: Theme (dark, light, or system), Reading width for the main content column, and Results per page for prior art search.
  • Claims. Display conventions for the claims editor and the per-check diagnostics controls, explained in Claims.
  • AI. The assistant model for the active matter, explained in Assistant, plus your daily AI usage.

Where each setting applies

  • Theme is stored per device, so your office machine and laptop can differ.
  • Everything else under General and Claims is stored on your account and applies wherever you sign in.
  • The AI model is stored per matter and is hidden while no matter is open.

Daily AI usage

Settings → AI shows a meter of today's AI usage as a percentage of your daily allowance. Assistant conversations and AI-drafted edits count toward it. When you reach the limit, AI features pause until the allowance resets and the meter shows how long that is; the rest of the app keeps working. The allowance resets every day.
